Betty M. Specht, 75, W. Main Street, Somerset, died April 25, 1990, at Laurelwood Convalescent Home, Johnstown. She was born Aug. 16, 1914, in Kantner, Somerset County. Daughter of the late Daniel Boone and Margaret (Adams) Specht. Preceded in death by two brothers, Josiah and Robert "Ozzie." Survived by these sisters and brothers: Mrs. Warren "A.K." Sipe, Jennerstown; Mrs. J. Hall (Cecelia) Stokes, San Antonio, Texas; Mrs. Howard R. (Peggy) Boose, Arlington, Va.; Mrs. J. Edgar (Anne) Lohr, St. Petersburg, Fla.; Mrs. Walter (Gretchen) Hart, Key West, Fla.; and Edward A. Specht, Big Coppitt Key, Fla. Member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Somerset. Graduate of Somerset High School, 1935. She was a WWII veteran, having served with WAC. Past president of BPW and Legion
Auxiliary. Member of Licensed Practical Nursing Association (LPN). Charter member of LPN in Pa. Retired after 45 years as an LPN at Somerset Hospital. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 Thursday in Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where wake service will be conducted at 8:45 p.m. Mass of Christian burial at 8:30 a.m. Friday in St. Peter's Church, Rev. Msgr. Samuel Tomaselli officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Windber Hospital Hospice.
