John Adams
---John Adams, age 67, of Marshall died Monday, December 6, 1999 at his residence following a short illness.
---Mr. Adams was born on March 14, 1932 in Prestonsburg, Ky to Shelly and Norma (Stambough) Adams. He had been a resident of the Marshall area since 1951. He had been employed at the Malleable Iron Company in Albion for 24 years, retiring in 1976 due to ill health. Prior employment included working for the Chesapeake Ohio Railroad.
---On August 15, 1952, he married the former Barbara Jean Fuller in Marshall.
---Mr. Adams loved to spend time with his family especially his grandchildren. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed camping. He also enjoyed country music, playing his guitar and fixing things.
---He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Deborah (Terry) Reniger of Marshall; grandchildren, Alyssa M. Reniger and Travas R. Reniger; sisters, Emma J. Hood of Bakersfield, Calif., Virginia Curran of Milford, Conn. and Lois Shaffer of Felton, Del.; brothers, Benjamin Adams of Union City, Cornelius Adams of Missouri and Robert Adams of Needles, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a son, John; daughter, Linda Kay; brother, Oliver W. Adams; and sisters, Helen in infancy and Sylvia Cumbee.
---Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Ronald Hackworth officiating. Interment will follow in Porter Cemetery. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the Michigan Heart Association or to the American Lung Association. Assistance with memorials is available at the funeral home.
