Shirley Iva Wood, 76 of Bloomington went home to be the Lord Monday, July 9, 2012. She was surrounded by her loving family. Born December 19, 1935 in Monroe County, she was the daughter of Theodore and Grace (Bell) Hawkins. Shirley was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed crocheting, cooking, crafts with her grandchildren and reading her bible. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Russell Andis, Sherry Parks (James), Jeanie Hanner (Robert), grandchildren, Jimmy Parks (Tonya Grubb), Tammy Salyers (Danny), Misty Salyers (Scotty), Lisa Biggs (Matt), Jenny Hanner, Richard Hanner, Kimberley Rogers (Marcus), Gina Tieman (Travis), Jamie Andis, 20 great grandchildren, sisters, Carolyn Luther, Sharon Simmons, Loretta Wilkerson, Dixie Bowling and a brother, Charles Hawkins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard "Woody" Wood (1997), son, Daniel Ray Andis, sisters, Judy Bean and Dinah Williams.
Services will be 1:00pm Saturday, July 14, 2012 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard 3000 E. Third St. in Bloomington. Pastor Aaron Strunk. Visitation will be 11am-1pm Saturday at The Funeral Chapel. A private family burial will be Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Rose Hill Cemetery.
