Lloyd Golladay was born to Henry and Mary Faulke Golladay at their farm home west of Beloit September 21, 1899.
He departed this life after an extended three year illness of cancer on August 8, 1970 at 11:40 p.m. at the Beloit Community hospital, at the age of 70 years, 10 months and 18 days.
Lloyd was honorable and friendly in all of his dealings with his fellowmen, a kindly husband and father, he had well fulfilled his mission and departs leaving only warm and kind memories to all who knew him. His greatest joy was his grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Lloyd Golladay was married to Grace Shaffer September 2, 1924. They resided on their farm west of Beloit until November of 1944, then moved into Beloit to their present home on North Chestnut.
To this union three children were born, Robert, Salina; Betty of the home and Joan Guard, of McPherson.
Preceding him in death were his mother and father and three brothers: Fred, Elmer and Ralph.
Survivors, beside his wife and children are four grandchildren Gary, Greg and Gayla Guard, McPherson and Chris Golladay, Salina; one sister-in-law, Sarah Golladay, and an aunt, Mrs. Florence Golladay, both of Glen Elder.
He was a member of the St. John's Catholic Church and the Elks Lodge.
Father Marvin Kaiser conducted the Rosary service, assisted by Brother Kenneth Schaffer, at the Harrison Funeral Home Monday evening.
The Requiem High Mass was held Tuesday, 9 a.m. August 11, 1970 by Father Marvin Kaiser in St. John the Baptist's Church. Interment in the Catholic cemetery. Graveside services were conducted by the Beloit BPOE No. 1779.
Pall bearers were nephews: Richard Golladay, Floyd Golladay, Noel Schmitz, Donald Schmitz, Jim Rehmert and Jerry Rehmert. Out of town relatives attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Donald Schmitz and family Denver, CO; Kenneth Schaffer, of Mountain View, CA; Norbert Schaffer and children, Manhattan, KS; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Schaffer, Mrs. and Mrs. Alex Studer, Jewell, KS; Mr. and Mrs. Tom Spurgin, Neosho, MO.
