Effie Evelyn Thomson, 82, of Independence, MO, passed away July 12, 2012, at John Knox Care Center, Lee's Summit, MO. Funeral services will be Monday, July 16, at 39th Street Church of Christ, Independence, MO where she was a member. Visitation prior to service at the church. Burial in Swan Lake Memorial Park, Grain Valley, MO.
Evelyn was born on Jan. 13, 1930, in West Plains, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin Francis and Berta (Huddleston) Francis and siblings, Freda Clark, Floyd Francis, Charlene Parent, J.R. Francis, Modena 'Dink' Rose, Wanda 'Squeak' Jackson, and Duane Francis.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Jared Thomson; son, Jared D. Thomson and his wife Polly of Grain Valley; grandchildren, Jared L. Thomson, Polly M. Thomson and Heather A. Dunnihoo and her husband Dylan; siblings, R.C. Francis and wife Mary Francis, Thelma Russell and Franklin Dale 'Pete' Francis and wife Ellen, in-laws, Ruth Francis, Chester Rose, John D. 'Nuby' Jackson and Ruby Francis.
