Miss Emily S. Thomason, Red Cross Official, Dies
Miss Emily S. Thomason of 1907 Stuart ave., executive secretary of the Chesterfield county chapter of the American Red Cross, died Saturday at Richmond hospital.
Miss Thomason joined the Red Cross during World War I and was active in the organization throughout her life.
During World War II see served as director of staff welfare for the Red Cross in the Pacific area.
Miss Thomason was also vice president of the Children's Home Society of Virginia, a past president of the Richmond Junior League and the past president of the Richmond YWCA.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, with burial in Hollywood Cemetery.
She is survived by four sisters, the Misses Florine N., M. Eugenia and Luly Thomason, all of Richmond, and Mrs. J. Alfred Taylor of Charles City county.
The family requests flowers be omitted.
