..."Calvin and Effie Jane met at a picnic at the [Judge] John Fairley place. They married sometime in the late 1850s. They first lived in Greene County at the Old Pipkins place.
Calvin and his first cousin went to Ocean Springs and put up a Carriage Shop, about where the Depot was later built. Thier first two children were borned there. Calvin went to the war for a short time and got sick with 'TB' come home and died in 1867.
The coffin was made and they loaded it on a two wheeled cart, some say they was going to the [Judge]John Fairley Cemetery, others say to the old Pipkins place in Greene Co. But Still Branch was backed up from the River, they tried to cross it but it was to deep. They come up on the hill and buried him.
His grave was found after one hundred years. There was pieces of a picket fence built with square nails.
It has a chain link fence and a grave marker today"...
