Jacob Wiley was born 03 February 1874, the son of Alexander Wiley and Martha (Garlitz) Wiley in Bittinger, Garrett County, Maryland.
Jacob married Elizabeth Steiding on 03 February 1897 in Garrett County, Maryland.
They lived on the Steiding Farm in Deer Park with Elizabeth's family, Garrett County, where they had their first child, Nellie E. Wiley.
Jacob was an engineer for the B & O Railroad.
They later moved to Keyser, Mineral County, West Virginia about an hour away. They had the following children: Nellie E., Bruce Otto, Arthur C, Wilda W., Winona , Ernest E., Austin S., Josephine G., and Constance L..
Jacob was a railroad engineer on the 1900 census.
Jacob died at a young age from Influenza that caused Pneumonia, on 09 February 1920 in Keyser.
He was buried at Queen's Point, Keyser, Mineral County, West Virginia. His widower Elizabeth survived him 41 years, when she passed away on 07 October 1961.
