Robert married Annie Foreman December 13, 1813 at Cane Ridge Church, Bourbon Co., Kentucky. When he was but six years old (1794) his family removed to Kentucky and settled on a farm near Jacktown. The grandfather Bowles (Capt. David Bowles) accompanied them. In 1819 they removed to Marion Co., Missouri but returned to Kentucky the same year not even unloading their wagon. He was a stonemason and farmer. Annie Foreman was the d/o William "Lick" Foreman. She was b. in Bourbon Co., Kentucky and died at her daughter's home in Marion Co., Missouri. Their children were:
