Anna Ione Beardsley Lemmon, the daughter of Henry Clay and Sara Jane (nee Price) Beardsley, came from an old line colonial family. Her ancestors were of English origin and were among the first settlers of Stratford, Connecticut. She was the fourth child in a family of three girls and three boys. Her life was one of service.
She assisted her husband in preaching the gospel and leading the choir. She raised a family of four children, but succumed to breast and cervical cancer in 1931. She was cremated and her ashes were interred in Chico, California.
