Son of Edward Anderson Hildreth and Annie J. Thurber, husband of Maud Elizabeth Graham, whom he married on July 17, 1907 in Patchogue, New York, and father of Ruth (married Charles Smith), Edward Graham, and Nina Hildreth (married Edward D. Ashline).

In 1900, Harold A. Hildreth, aged 12, born January 1888, was living in Sag Habor, Southampton, New York with his parents, Edward A. Hildreth, aged 36, born August 1863, a hotel keeper, and Annie J. Hildreth, aged 36, born September 1852, and siblings, Edna G. Hildreth, aged 16, born October 1884, Charles D. Hildreth, aged 14, born December 1886, and Madeline Hildreth, aged 9, born August 1891.

In 1910, Harold Hildreth, aged 22, was living at 55 Sargent Street, Lawrence, Massachusetts, with his wife, Maud Hildreth, aged 21. He was shown to be a fiber matting weaver.

In 1920, Harold Hildreth, aged 31, was living at 92 Jayne Avenue, Patchogue, New York, with his wife, Maud Hildreth, aged 31, and daughter, Ruth Hildreth, aged 9. He was shown to be the manager of a restaurant.

In 1930, Harold A. Hildreth, aged 42, was living at 24 Sammis Avenue, Babylon, New York, lodging in the home of Julia F. Quinlan, aged 51, with other lodgers, Eugene A. Flanagan, aged 43, J. Ceylon Jackson, aged 41, Arthur F. Murphy, aged 28, and Richard Van Valkenburg, aged 23. He was shown to be a chef in a restaurant.

On April 26, 1942, Harold Albert Hildreth, aged 54, registered for the draft during World War II, stating that; he resided at 178 S. Main Street, Sayville, Suffolk, New York, mailing address c/o Modern Diner, Main Street, Sayville, New York; was born January 14, 1888 in Sag Harbor, New York; was employed by Nicholas Claros, Modern Diner; and gave the name of Nicholas Claros, Modern Diner, Main Street, Sayville, New York as the person who would always know his address. He was described as 5'7" tall, 148 lbs., with brown eyes, brown hair, light complexion, and a mole on his left chin.

Obituary - HAROLD A, HILDRETH, 79, of Coates Avenue, Holbrook, and a former Patchogue resident, died Tuesday at the Bay Shore Nursing Home. He is survived by two sons, John of East Patchogue and Edward of Port Jefferson; two daughters, Mrs. Nina Ashline and Mrs. Ruth Smith, both of Patchogue, and two sisters, Mrs. Edna Ashby of Rockville Centre and Mrs. Madeline Wallace of Bellport. He Is also survived by 10 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at C.W. Ruland and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Lester Haws of the Patchogue Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Patchogue.
