Lloyd M. Meyer age 71, of rural Valders, died Wednesday, December 9, 1998, at his residence, peacefully surrounded by his family and prayers after a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 12, 1998, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Gerald Sirois. Entombment will be at Knollwood Memorial Garden Mausoleum.
He was born July 4, 1927, in Manitowoc County, son of the late Clarence and Ovila Rautmann Meyer. He attended Manitowoc County Schools and was a veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1945 until 1946. On April 22nd 1950, he married the former Doris Erdmann at St. Andrew Catholic Church Manitowoc. Lloyd was self-employed owning and operating Meyer Drywalling, retiring in 1989. He was a past president of the Pigeon Lake Sportsman Club. Llyod enjoyed fishing at his cottage on West Bass Lake in Florence County and gardening.
Survivors include his wife Doris; two sons and daughters, Gary (Lori) Meyer, Two Rivers, Rick (Ellie) Meyer, Newton; one daughter and son-in-law, Sandy (Emil) Sleger, Manitowoc; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Alan (Gladys) Meyer, Valders, Gene (Sally) Meyer, Manitowoc; three sisters and three brothers-in-law, Joyce (Henry) Voigt, Carpentersville, Ill., Bernice (Ellwood) Schneider, Valders, Marge (Ron) Brueckman, Chicago, Ill a special nephew, Wayne Brueckman; his God daughter, Sue Meyer, God son, Ryan Brueckman, his father-in-law, Elmer Erdmann. His is further survived by nieces and nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law.
Friends may call at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill, on Saturday, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. The family wishes to thank Holy Family Memorial Hospice, Sr. Jean Herman, and Dr. Andrew Yetter for their care and concern.
