Mrs. Ann Elisa Baldwin, widow of Erastus Benjamin, died at the home of her brother Leonard W. Baldwin near Oaksville, early on Wednesday morning, Feb. 1, at the advanced age of 80 years.

She was born at Litchfleld, Conn., and came to Oaksville when about 15 years of age, with her parents John and Julia Ann Baldwin together with two brothers and two sisters. All are deceased except the above-named brother, in whose house she has resided for most of the time for the past ten years since about a year after the death of Mr. Benjamin.

From 1867 to 1884 they were residents of Oneonta. Prior to removing to Oneonta, Mrs. Benjamin spent several years at Hartwick. She was a respected Christian woman. She was the mother of four children, two by her first husband Harry Wilcox and two by the last. Two daughters surviving her, Mrs. H. S. Bradley [Susan] of Hartwick and Mrs. Richard Van Nort [Martha] of Cooperstown.

Her remains were on Wednesday afternoon taken to Hartwick where the funeral occurred at the home of her daughter [Susan] on the following Friday at 11 o'clock; services conducted by the Rev. R, G. Fenton. Interment in the family plot in Hartwick cemetery by the side of her last husband and their daughter.

The following friends from out of town were in attendance at her funeral: W.R. Brink and wife of Laurens; R. Van Nort, wife and son George of Cooperstown.

Note: Ann Eliza's Will is dated May 5, 1888 and is in the Cooperstown Probate Records (49i31). The executor is son-in-law, Hiram S. Bradley of Harwick with Mumford and Nancy Aldrich as witnesses.
