Gertrude Nemetz, age 93, formerly of 1520 N. 23rd St., Manitowoc, died Sunday afternoon, February 6, 2000, at North Ridge Medical & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 11, 2000, at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Mathew Simonar, with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born November 27, 1906, in the town of Franklin, daughter of the late Frank and Anna Oswald Nesper. Gertrude was a graduate of Reedsville High School. On June 30, 1937, she married Anton Nemetz, at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. He preceded her in death, January 29, 2000. Gertrude was employed as a housekeeper in the Manitowoc area for many years.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Bernard Novak, Manitowoc; two grandchildren, Lana Glaser and her husband, Mike, Todd Novak and his wife, Brenda; two great grandchildren, Kendal and Kalie Novak; two sisters, Marion Braun, Whitelaw, Lillian Wallander, Manitowoc; one brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Agnes Nesper, Manitowoc. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Christine Karl and Laura Pritzl and four brothers-in-law, Lawrence Wallander, Fred Karl, Frank Braun and Othmar Pritzl.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, from 9 a.m. Friday, until the time of service at 11 a.m.
