MARBLEHEAD - Elizabeth J. Church, 48, of 64 Jersey St., died Wednesday at her late residence following a long illness. She was the wife of Lewis W. Church, Jr.

Born in Forbes Point, Nova Scotia, daughter of David Abbott of Marblehead and the late Lorna (Crocker) Abbott, she has been a resident of Marblehead for 45 years.

Mrs. Church was an active member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Marblehead. She was a member of the fair committee for many years, and was chairman of the antique table at the church fairs. She was also a member of the Star of the Sea Bowling League.

In addition to her husband and father, she is survived by one son, Douglas W. Church, a seventh grade student at the Marblehead Junior High School; three daughters, Miss Barbara L. Church of Marblehead; Mrs. Wayne (Cathy) Yale of Alton, N.H.; and Mrs. William (Sandra V.) Martin of Buffalo, N.Y.; one brother, William Abbott of Somersworth, N.H.; two sisters, Mrs. Chandler (Dorothy) Marble of Conway, N.H., and Mrs. Mary Moran of Salem, Mass.; two grandchildren, Amy and Ty Yale, both of Alton, N.H.

Funeral services will be held in St. Michael's Epsicopal Church on Friday at 11 a.m.
