Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie Bell Edwards, 77, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rice Chapel. Mrs. Edwards died at her residence, Route 1, Gurley, at 10 p.m. yesterday after a short illness. The Rev. Harvey Wells and the Rev. James George will officiate at services. Interment will be in New Market Cemetery with Laughlin-Service Funeral Home in charge. Surviving are the widower, Len Edwards; seven sons, Lonnie Edwards, William Edwards, Floyd Edwards, John Wesley Edwards, and Jeffie Edwards, all of Route 1, Gurley, Charlie Edwards of Huntsville, Frank Edwards and James Robert Edwards, both of Route 2, New Market; two daughters, Mrs. Louise Holder, Route 1, Huntsville, and Mrs. Addie Holder, Route 1, Gurley; 39 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be Lonnie Edwards, Charles Edwards, John Edwards, Jeffie Edwards, Frank Edwards, and James Robert Edwards.
