Russell Cline Sr., 70, formerly of 466 Appleton St., Plymouth, died Wednesday morning, April 23, 1997, at Sunny Ridge Health Care Facility in Sheboygan, where he had been a resident the past four days.
He was born March 21, 1927 in the Town of Evergreen, Langlade County, Wis., a son of the late William and Minnie Bear Cline. He attended country schools in the Town of Evergreen. Following school, he entered the Merchant Marines and traveled the Great Lakes.
On Oct. 28, 1948, he married the former Adeline E. Sommer in Milwaukee. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Port Washington. In 1955, they moved to rural Adell. Russ had been a self-employed milk hauler for many years. He later hauled for Beine Milk Transit, Foremost Foods and Plymouth Creamery, until retiring in 1988. His wife preceded him in death on Nov. 13, 1987.
He is a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Batavia, as well as, a past member of the Adell Lions Club and the Adell Fire Department.
Survivors include one daughter, Kathy (Larry) Heitzmann, Sheboygan; four sons, Russell Jr. (Lori), Adell; Gary (Bev), Fredonia; Randy (Diane), Oostburg; and Michael (Vicki), Random Lake: 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Arlie (Opal) Cline, Antigo; one sister, Pearl (Roman) Eldridge, White Lake; two brothers-in-law, Herbert (Olive) Sommer, Town of Mosel; many nieces and nephews; also survived by many special friends. He was preceded in death by three brothers, eight sisters and one great-grandson.
Funeral services for Russell Cline Sr. will be held on Saturday, April 27, at 4 p.m. at Zion United Methodist Church in Batavia. The Rev. Barry Watson, pastor, will officiate. Burial will take place at the Wildwood Cemetery in Sheboygan. Friends may call at the CHURCH, on Sunday, from 1 p.m. until the hour of services that afternoon.
A memorial fund has been established in the name of Russell Cline Sr.
