Murvle Groover Dies at Elwood
ELWOOD--Murvle E. Groover, 72, of 1617 South K St., Elwood, died at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mercy Hospital. The body was taken to the Clark Chapel where friends will be received after 7 p.m. today.
Funeral services will be held at the mortuary at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Ed Finneley of First Baptist Church in charge. Burial will be in Elwood City Cemetery.
Mr. Groover was born April 24, 1895 in Tipton County, the son of James and Alice Groover. He married Eva Boyer on July 21, 1923. Mr. Groover was a retired employee of the Haynes - Stellite Company at Alexandria and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Eva Groover, five daughters, Ethelda Rieman, Mary Tumulty, Bertha Carroll, Claribel Groover, Genevire Simmons, all of Elwood; one son, William Groover, Elwood; one sister, Mrs Clara Poole, Elwood; and 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.--
