SIDNEY E. EADS

Sidney Elmer Eads was born to Katherine and William Eads on April 22, 1877, in Newton County, near Saginaw, Missouri. He died January 10, 1944, at the hospital in Bentonville Ark., after several weeks illness. He was nearly 67 years of age.

Mr. Eads spent the greater part of his early childhood in the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Swope, near Napier, Mo. He was united in marriage, February 17, 1896, to Leora Alice Cotton of Forest City. To this union nine children were born, one dying in infancy. Mr. and Mrs. Eads had gone to Rogers, Arkansas, to spend the winter with their daughter, Mrs. Josephine Brite when the fatal illness overtook him.

Surviving are his wife, Leora Alice Eads; six daughters, Mrs. Nora Pile of Oregon, Mo., Mrs. Josephine Britt of Rogers, Ark., Mrs. Alta Lark of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Edna Greer, Mrs. Nelle Staley, and Mrs. Elsie Albright, all of Southgate, Calif; two sons, Newell and George Eads, also of Southgate, Calif.; 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, besides other relatives and a host of friends.

Measuring life in good deeds done and loving kindness shown to others, Mr. Eads found life worth living. No stranger came to his door without being welcomed and hospitably received. He might have gained for himself more of the goods of this world had he been less generous in giving to and helping others. His kindness and generosity unite in forming tender and happy remembrances in the hearts of his loved ones and friends.

Jesus once said: "Inasmuch as ye did it unto the least of my brethren, even these least, ye did it unto Me"

Funeral services were held at the Oregon Presbyterian Church Wednesday afternoon by the Rev. L. A. Warren. Interment was in the Forest City Cemetery.
