George married Esther "Hettie" Buckman abt 1841. They had the following children:

3. Sarah Ann DeLong Steele b. 1846.
4. Mary Elizabeth DeLong b. 1849, unmarried.

George DeLong, of No. 353 Priscilla street, South Allentown, died yesterday morning from catarrh of the stomach. The funeral will be held on Thursday, Rev. J. P. Bachman officiating. Mr. DeLong was born in Maxatawny, Berks county, and was aged 78 years, 3 months and 29 days. He was a millwright by trade and followed it thirty-six years. He lived at Mountainville prior to moving to the home where he died. Mr. DeLong was a widower. He left these children: Mary, George O., and Oliver of South Allentown; Sarah, wife of Alfred Stettler, of Montgomery, Lycoming county; Amanda, wife of Abner Benner, of Fountain Hill, and Richard, of Philadelphia. The latter is tourist agent of the Pennsylvania Railroad.

George DeLong, a highly respected citizen of Aineyville, died on Monday morning of catarrh of the stomach and the infirmities incident to old age. His condition for several weeks had been critical and the news of his death will not surprise those who knew the nature of his illness. Deceased was a native of Maxatawny township, Berks county, and was 78 years, 3 months and 29 days of age. He was a wheelwright by trade and followed that occupation for a period of 36 years. For many years he resided near Snydersville and subsequently moved to Mountainville. About nine years ago he moved to Aineyville and led a retired life. He is survived by the following children: Richard J., of Philadelphia, chief clerk to George W. Boyd, Assistant General Passenger Agent of the Pennsylvania Railroad; Sarah, wife of Alfred Steel, of Montgomery, Lycoming county; Amanda, wife of Abraham Benner, of Fountain Hill; Mary, George O. and Oliver, of Aineyville. The funeral will take place on Thursday afternoon, interment in the cemetery of the Salisbury Church, in western Salisbury, and services in St. Mark's Church, at Aineyville, Rev. J. P. Bachman officiating. Mr. DeLong was a man of the highest integrity, esteemed by all who knew him, and one who in the several relations of husband, father and citizen fulfilled every obligation. He was a useful member of the community and the most precious legacy he leaves his children and his children's children is the record of a life well spent.
