Josephine Marie Rogers Askew, 95, passed away January 30, 2005 in Dallas, TX. Josephine was born on November 4, 1909 to her parents Jasper and Rosa in Pawhuska, OK. Josephine was a member of the Osage and Kaw Tribes, the French Heels Club, Helper's Club, St. Anthony's Volunteer League, 'Fighting Fifty' Girl's Society Team and was an active member of the Book Brief Book Review Club in Dallas, TX. During her lifetime, Josephine attended Sacred Heart Convent, Lake Forrest, IL and Barstow in Kansas City, MO. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and St. Rita Catholic Church in Dallas, TX. Josephine is preceded in death by her parents, Jasper Rogers and Rosa B. Fronkier; her sisters, Cecelia Rogera Barrett, Maudie Rogers McKinney, and Flora Rogers; and her brother Emmett J. Rogers. She is survived by her sons, Jay Askew of Edom, TX and Phillip Rogers Askew of Dallas, TX; her daughters-in-law, Ruthann Dwyer Askew and Judy Hohne Askew; her grandsons, Bart Askew and his wife Vanessa, Chris Askew and his wife Jennifer, Jeff Askew and wife Kim, Jim Askew, Joseph Askew and granddaughter Jennifer Askew; great grandchildren Nicholas Askew, Emily Askew, Ava Askew and Luke Askew. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 3, 2005 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 8005 Dorset Drive, Oklahoma City, with lunch immediately following the service. Burial will follow luncheon at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, Oklahoma City, OK. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Metroport Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 204, Roanoke, TX 76262.
