Cecilia A. Newberg, age 80, a Manitowoc resident, died Monday, October 2, 2000, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, October 5, 2000, at the Jens Family Funeral Home, 1122 S. 8th St., Manitowoc. Rev. Steve Solberg will officiate, with burial at Evergreen Cemetery.
Cecilia was born August 11, 1920, at Hays, Kansas, daughter of the late Peter and Mary Hammerschmidt Heili. Cecilia married Kenneth D. Newberg, August 10, 1940 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. They celebrated 60 years of marriage together.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth; two sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Nancy Newberg, Manitowoc, Tim and Kim Newberg, Manitowoc; three daughters and one son-in-law, Judith A. Kasten, Franklin, Tenn., Kay Lynne and Michael Blandin, Manitowoc, Connie Rae Newberg, Manitowoc, and her fiancé, Rick Farr; eight grandchildren, Paul and Mark Kasten, Becky Satterbak, Jon and James Newberg, Brian Blandin, Austin and Erik Newberg; three great grandchildren, Charles and Emily Kaste, Andie Lynne Satterbak; two brothers and a sister-in-law, William Heili, Two Rivers, Bernard and Irene Heili, Manitowoc; a sister and brother-in-law, Sophie and Clarence Schmidt, Missoula, Mont.; a sister-in-law, Ruth Dass, Sheboygan; a brother-in-law, Carl Newberg, Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Herbert and Estelle Heili; a sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Anselm Brungardt; a sister-in-law, Nettie Heili; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law also include, Robert and Alice Behrmann, Willard Dassow, Gertrude Newberg; two grandchildren, Christopher Newberg and Angela Newberg.
