"Absolom HANKINS... Oct 1820... Will... I Absolom Hankins being in a low state of helth but in right mind and senses and knowing that all men must die think it necessary to make my last will and testamoney in settling my worldly affairs Amen. 1st I want my stud horse and waggon sold and the money arising from the sale of them to paying Just debts
and the over pluss if any to go to my wife Ruth Hankins if any for the use of my family. Second I Absolam Hankins give and bequeath to my wife Ruth Hankins all my perishable property and household furniture house and farm during her widowhood and if she should marry all of the estate is to be sold except the land and to be equally divided between my wife Ruth Hankins and my eldest daughter Susannah Hankins and my daughter Anne Hankins and all my lawful heirs. Third I give and bequeath ta debt of the amount of three hundred dollars to my wife Ruth Hankins after my Just debts are paid and the use of the heirs as she may think right to dispose of. Fourth I give and bequeath to my son Levi Hankins my Blacksmiths Tools. Fifth I give and bequeath to my yougest son Absolom Hankins one half of my land. Sixth and Seventh I give and bequeath the other half of my land to John Hankins & Levi Hankins and to be equally divided agreeable to quantity and quality. And they John Hankins & Levi Hankins and Absolom Hankins if they can't divide the land themselves they are to choose some fit person to divide it for them. I absolom Hankins do appoint my wife Ruth Hankins and Joseph Hinds as executors of my estate. I Absolom Hankins do hear sign and set my seal this twenty fifth day of July one thousand eight hundred and twenty.
