Palestinian Arab nationalist and Muslim leader in the Mandatory Palestine.

Born around 1897 in Jerusalem.

From 1921 to 1937 he was the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, using the position to promote Islam but also to rally a non-confessional Arab nationalism against Zionism.

He was also openly against Great Britian and a close friend to Adolf Hitler.

Throughout World War II, al-Husseini worked for the Axis Powers as a broadcaster in propaganda targeting Arab public opinion to support Hitler's cause.

When the Nazis were defeated in 1945, al-Husseini attempted to obtain asylum in Switzerland but his request was refused. Instead he was placed under house arrest.

Took part in the 1948 Palestine War against the Jewish take over of Israel and was exiled from Israel.

Amin al-Husseini passed away in 1974.
