Mardell L. Gentry, 66, died of natural causes July 22 at 11:43 a.m. in her residence at Hawthorne Court, Spring Township, following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of S. Richard Gentry. Born in Greensburg, Westmoreland County, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Lillian (Stahlburg) Newquist. Gentry was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church, Wyomissing. She was a graduate of Rumson (N.J.) High School and a graduate of Ball State University, Muncy, Ind.

Gentry is also survived by a daughter, Gail (Gentry) Greaves, Spring Township; and three sons: Bryan, Wyomissing; Dr. Andrew, Chesapeake, Va.; and Kirk, Annapolis, Md. Other survivors include a sister, Joan (Newquist) Brown, Atlanta; and six grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Oscar A. Gentry, in 1962. Services will be private. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
