"We regret to announce the demise of this well known citizen. An illness of a few days' duration, terminated fatally on Saturday. His remains were conveyed to their last resting place yesterday evening, by the Masonic fraternity, of which he was long an honored member. Mr. Burton was also an honorary member of the Richmond Light Infantry Blues, to whose fortunes, both in the past and at a later day, he was devotedly attached. Mr. Burton had served his fellow-citizens for many years past acceptably, as an Alderman of the Hustings Court. His remains were interred at Cedar [sic] Hill Cemetery, N. E. corner of 2d street."
He is buried in the plot he owned.
