Funeral services were held for Emil Willing at the Trinity Lutheran church of Faribault Tuesday, June 7, at 2 p.m. preceded by a family service in The Boldt Funeral Home at 1:30. The Rev. Dale G. Young officiated during the funeral service. Elmer Fritz played the organ, and Mrs. G. R. Borgstahl sang "The Lord Is My Shepherd." Mrs. Lester Nichols provided organ music for the family service. Interment was made in the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park in Faribault.

Pallbearers were Donald Willing, Francis Willing, William Willing, Jr., Roger Kalien, Herbert Kalien and Raymond Kalien, all nephews of the deceased. Relatives and friends attended the funeral from Rochester, Mankato, St. Peter, Owatonna, Pine River, Morristown, Northfield and Faribault.

Emil Willing, son of Herman and Caroline Willing, was born September 2, 1888 at his parents' farm home in Shieldsville township. He attended the rural schools of Rice County. He served during World War I and later farmed in the Cedar Lake area. He married Bertha Walters on June 4, 1925 in Waterville. Following their marriage the couple lived on a farm near Cedar Lake until 1943 when they moved to Faribault.

He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. Emil Willing passed away at the age of 71 years at his home at 225 Park Avenue on Saturday, June 4, after an extended illness. He is survived by his wife, Bertha; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Kalien and Mrs. Hilda Zemke of Faribault; three brothers, William Willing of Rochester, Fred Willing of Faribault and Ernest Willing of Faribault.
