In 1930, Melvina Bingle, 20, was listed as Head of household taking care of her siblings Adolph, 14, Joseph, 12, and Alphonse, 7. Their parents were both born in Lithuania. She worked as a waitress in an ice cream parlor and owned her home.

She married James Anthony Strollo in 1935. In 1941, they lived in Brockton (9 N Warren Ave) and he worked as a chauffeur. Melvina was listed as his wife on his WWII draft application card. He was in Tampa, Florida at the time and she lived in Brockton, Mass. Per 1947 City Directory, Melvina Strollo was working as a stitcher and still lived in Brockton, Massachusetts.
