DOWLING ABSENT

CITY AND COUNTY HEALTH OFFICER ATTENDING FUNERAL OF BROTHER

Dr. J. D. Dowling, health officer, probably will return to Birmingham in a dya or two, after attending the funeral of R. Y. Dowling, his brother, who died Sunday morning at 3:30 o'clock at Ozark, following a lingering illness. Dr. Dowling went to Ozark Saturday and arrived at his brother's bedside before death occurred. The funeral probably will be held Monday afternoon, Mrs. Dowling stated, but the exact hour was not known here.

Mr. Dowling was a prominent merchant of Ozark, where he has been in business for a number of years. He is survived by his widow, eight children, his mother, five brothers, and one sister. Death occurred at the Dowling home at Ozark, where Mr. Dowling has been ill for some time.
