Melvin White, 60, telephone lineman for the Manufacturers Light & Heat Co. for
31 years and a native of Greene County, died at 3:30 p.m. yesterday, Sept. 11,
1941, at his home on Pennsylvania avenue, Cameron, W. Va. Mr. White had been in
ill health for some time, but his condition did not become serious until a week
ago.

A son of the late Peter and Sarah Pethtel White, he was born August 3, 1881, and
was married August 9, 1903, to Myrtle Wise, who survives with one daughter, Mrs.
Naomi Taylor, of Hickory, Pa.; three grandchildren, Naomi June, Melva Lynn and
Jennie Lou; two sisters, Mrs. Cora Morris, of Dean, W. Va., and Mrs. Frank
Taylor, of Newark, O. and three half brothers, Henry and Charles White, of Dean,
W. Va., and Snowden White, of Steubenville, O.

Mr. White was a member of the First United Brethren Church of Cameron and was
past master of Cameron Lodge No. 17, F. & A. M. of which he was a trustee at the
time of his death.
