Ross Galardi was born on December 28, 1919, in Kansas City, Missouri to Phillip Galardi, aged 34 and Mary aged 20. He grew up in Kansas City where he met and married the love of his life Virginia Lee Caudell. There they raised two sons Ross Jr. (1938) and Phillip (1939). During WWII he served on the USS Neshanic, a US Navy Oiler that proved fuel to ships and planes in the Pacific Theater of War. At the end of the war he returned to the family in Kansas City where he worked in appliance marketing. In the early 1960s the family moved to the Los Angeles California area and settled down in Covina, CA where he owned and managed a Der Weinerschitzel franchise restaurant. He died on January 15, 1979, in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 59, and is buried in Covina, California.
