From the Bechtold - Beierle - Roth Family Summary compiled 16 January 1989 by Luella Catherine Roth:

"Joseph Beierle was born in Upstadt, Badenia, Germany on February 12, 1835.

He died on July 31, 1907 in Covington, Ky.

Date not known when he came to America. He was a veteran of the Grand Army of the Republic - 1861 - 1866.

He became a very good citizen and was interested in the betterment of the community. Before coming to Covington he lived in Maysville, Ky.

He was one of the founders of the Covington Turner Society then known as the Covington Turnmeinge. He joined the Society in July 1857 and received his fifty year certificate of membership of the Organization in July 1907.

He married Mary Bechtold. Not known where or when.

While living in Maysville, his wife Mary gave birth to twins. They died in early infancy."

DEATHS

Joseph Beierle, 72, died at his home, 47 Frey-st., yesterday of paralysis. Sunday he was awarded a diploma for being a member of the North America Gymnastic Union. He was for 50 years an honorary member of the German Pioneer Society. The funeral will be Saturday morning at 9 o´clock, at St. Aloysius´ Church. Burial at St. John´s Cemetery.

COVINGTON BRIEFS

The funeral of Joseph Beierele, honorary member of the German Pioneer Society, took place Saturday. William Riedlin, Joseph A. Rub, G. F. Roth and H. A. Perny, of the Pioneer Society were the pallbearers.

Probate Beierle Will

Joseph Beierle, who died a short time ago, made his will on June 5, 1888, devising all of his property to his wife during her life or widowhood, with remainder to his children at her death, and two-thirds to the children in the event she married again. The will was probated in the Kenton-co. Court yesterday.
