On September 12, 1908, he was united in marriage to Johanna Ronning of Boyd at the St. Petri Lutheran Church by Rev. Longhaugh.
Albert served as mail carrier at Boyd for thirty years and as mail carrier on route one out of Clarkfield for thirteen years. He retired in 1949 and lived in Clarkfield until three years ago when they moved to the home at Madison.
The couple observed their golden wedding while residing in Clarkfield.
Mr. Toftness passed away at the Madison Home on Saturday, September 29, 1962, at the age of 83 years.
His parents and one son, Clifford Orlando, age 2, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Johanna; four children: Julian of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, Clayton of Fremont, Nebraska, Allen of Montevideo, Minnesota, and Pearl (Mrs. Don DeMersseman) of Jamestown, North Dakota; 13 grandchildren; three great grandchildren and two brothers: William Toftness of Shell Lake, Wisconsin and Martin Toftness of Plentywood, Montana.
