Headstone indexed in 1956 by the Chief Tusquahoma Chapter DAR for the book, "Louisiana Tombstone Inscriptions: Volume I Ouachita Parish", page 164.

After Peter died, Minerva applied for a Confederate Widow's pension. She states that Peter died of pneumonia at Indian Village on the above date. During the Civil War, he served with Company H. of the 12th LA Regiment [Jackson Sharpshooters]. The couple were married November 30, 1865. When Minerva died, the following children were listed in the pension: J.M., J.B., Emily McFall, Gillian Sandifer, S.M., R.E., Alda P. Henry, Lillian, A.E. and C.P.
