Edwin Wcisel, 87 of Gaylord died Friday, July 13, 2012. Mr. Wcisel was born in Posen, Michigan on November 8, 1924 to Leo and Stella (Krajniak) Wcisel. On November 3, 1945, he married Ernestine Himes who preceded him in death in 2005. After Mr. and Mrs. Wcisel married, they moved around southern Michigan as he took on various road construction projects. The Wcisels made Gaylord their home in 1960. In 1972, Mr. Wcisel established Wcisel Construction, which continues to be owned by his five sons. Family was most important to Edwin, as he loved spending time at his cottage in Brevort. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and found a special hobby in restoring old farm tractors. He is survived by his five sons; Edwin Jr. (Jane), Jerry (Marilyn), Ernie (Jackie), Ronnie (Jeanette) and Randy all of Gaylord; 17 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings; Christine, Eleanor, Florence, Leo Jr., Delephine, Margette and Dorothy. In addition to his wife, his brothers Frank, Florian and Toefil (Ted) and sisters Anna, Gertrude, and Irene precede him in death. FUNERAL SERVICES will be held on Tuesday, July 17, at 1 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home, 135 N. Center Gaylord, Michigan. Family and friends will be received from 10:30 a.m. until the hour of service, Rev. John Naile officiating. Memorial contributions in memory of Edwin may be made to the Otsego County Commission on Aging (OCCOA), through the Nelson Funeral Home, P.O Box 1548, Gaylord, Michigan 49734.
