Husband of Lavinia Caroline Harrison Wheeler. Soldier of the War of 1812.

Malcom Wheeler settled in Franklin County "nearly south of the Meramec; his family consisted of his wife, two sons William L. and Henry; and two daughters Mrs. Benjamim Beazley and Mrs. Isaac Evans. " - source: History of Franklin, Jefferson, Washington, Crawford & Gasconade Counties, Missouri.

He purchased 25 Acres of Land in Franklin County, MO in 1840, and another 40 Acres in Franklin County in 1841.

Malcom Wheeler was a soldier in the War of 1812, from Washington County, Virginia. He enlisted in the Virginia Militia, Capt Orr's Company. He was listed as "Macom Wheeler" . in Bradley's Virginia Militia, Enlistment Rank- Pvt , War of 1812, Branch: US Army

Malcom married Lavinia Caroline Harrison circa 1815-1819 (exact marriage date unknown). They settled in Franklin County, Missouri between 1820 and 1830. He appears on the 1830 Federal Census with his wife and young children in Meramec, Franklin County, Missouri. The Wheeler family was living next door to his brother-in-law "Tyra" Tyree Harrison and nearby to his other brother-in-law William Harrison (brothers of Lavinia Caroline). It appears that his other brother-in-law Lewis Harrison may have been living with the Wheeler family as well on the 1830 census, as there appears one additional male in the household aged 20-29. This is possiblyLavinia Caroline's youngest brother, Lewis.

Malcom and Lavinia Caroline raised their family in Franklin County and remained there the rest of their lives. He is buried at the Whitmire Cemetery near his son Henry and presumably near his wife Lavinia Caroline.

UPDATE October 2020: Gravestone photos taken by Terry Cadenbach who visited the cemetery and cleaned the stones. Malcom Wheeler shares a headstone with his son Henry Wheeler,; only a footstone marker remains for Malcom's wife Lavinia Caroline Harrison Wheeler.
