John Dunphy married Ann Crosdale on April 07, 1864 in Rosbercon, Kilk, Ireland. He came over to the United States and settled in Trenton, New Jersey where he resided for nearly 1/2 a century. Mr. Dunphy worked for the railroad and lost one of his legs in an accident. He continued to work for the railroad.
Mr. Dunphy was also a member of Sacred Heart Church and worked as Secretary to the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Mr. Dunphy held a night school at his house where many attended.
John Dunphy is the father of several children who entered religious service. His sons William and Edward were Priests and his daughter Johanna was a Nun.
Mr. Dunphy died from complications from stomach cancer.
