George Barth was born in 1852 in Fullarton Township of Stratford County, Ontario Canada to Michael and Christina Ferber Barth. George immigrated to the United States in 1871 and settled in Freeport, Illinois. He married Jemima Mennig of Freeport and to this marriage, twelve children were born. George became an Evangelical preacher and moved from town to town in central Illinois where he preached the word of God. His last parish was near Edison Park in Chicago, Illinois. George died in 1932 in Chicago.
