Jemima Mennig Barth was born in Tuscarawas County, Ohio in 1853 to William and Anna Rebecca Werner Mennig. She and her family settled in Freeport, Illinois where Jemima married George Barth, a Canadian immigrant. To this marriage, twelve children were born. Jemima followed her husband from town to town in Illinois where he preached the gospel. Jemima Barth died in 1926 near Edison Park in Chicago, Illinois.
