DEATH OF OLD SETTLER

Mrs. Margaret Dally of Homer Succumbs to Attack of Paralysis at Age of 68 Years.

RESIDENT HERE FOR 52 YEARS

Came Here With Her Husband From Ohio in 1855-Was the Mother of Ten Children.

Mrs. Margaret Dally died February 4 at 9.35 a. m. at the home of her son, B. F. Dally, near Homer. Her death was due to a stroke of paralysis which attacked her about six weeks ago.

Margaret Fisher was born in Trumbull county, Ohio, December 20, 1820. In her native state she was, at the age of about eighteen, united in marriage with Milton Dally. Mr. and Mrs. Dally came to Hamilton county June 6, 1855--fifty-two years ago--locating near Homer. Here the deceased resided until about three years ago when she went to make her home with her son B. F. Dally. It was at his home that she passed away.

Mrs. Dally was the mother of ten children, five of whom survive her. They are J. W. Dally of Algona; R. B. Dally of Homer; B. F. Dally of near Homer; Mrs. Jane Johnson of Story City, Mrs. Elizabeth Maricle of Duncombe. Five children preceded the mother to the grave-the last being H. E. Dally of this city, who passed away a few months since. Her husband, Milton Dally, died in 1888.

Mrs. Dally was among the very early settlers who braved the trials and struggles of pioneer days in Hamilton county and was perfectly familiar with the hardships incident to those times. She was for many years a member of the Christian church, and was an exemplary woman in all the relations of life.

The funeral was held Wednesday in the Christian church in Homer, Rev. Stevenson of Stanhope conducting the services. Interment was in the Homer cemetery.
