BARTLETT - Mildred Bascue, 81, of Bartlett, passed away Thursday morning December 28, 2000 at St. John's Regional Medical Center at Joplin.
She was born Dec. 13, 1919 in Chetopa, to Mike and Alpha Ann (Hurst) Linthicum. She was raised in Chetopa and moved to Bartlett in 1945. She married Noah Marion Bascue on July 3, 1938 at Oswsego.
He preceded her in death on June 28, 1958. She had a restaurant in Bartlett for a number of years, and worked for the Army Ammunition Plant in Parsons for some years also.
She was a member of the Bartlett Chritian Church. Mildred loved children and helped raise most of the children in Bartlett.
Survivors include: one daughter, Roxana Camper, Bartlett; two foster brothers, Cliff Hayden, Independence and Glenn Hayden, Coffeyville; one sister, Kay Hulsey of Coffeyville; five granddaughters, Tracy Walker, Altoona, Nancy SAnchez, Bartlett, Anita Wulf, Chetopa, Wanda Rexwinkle, Mound Valley and Patty Darnell, Chetopa; two step-grandsons, Kevin Harms, Chetopa and Randy Harms, Nevada, Mo. and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Marion "Sunshine" Bascue; daughter-in-law, Juanita Bascue; one sister and two brothers.
Services were Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000 at 2:30 p.m. at the Bath Funeral Home in Chetopa with Pastor Fred Wooldridge officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
A memorial has been established to the Bartlett Christian Church and may be mailed or left at the funeral home.
