JOHN CLEM DIES AT CUTLER HOME
Despondent because of a two years affliction with cancer of the stomach, John Clem, 68, well known Carroll County farmer, died of his own hand at the family home, two miles southwest of Cutler, Indiana.
Mr. Clem was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania on October 18, 1864, a son of Paul M. and Hannah Elizabeth Clem. He came to Indiana as a child with his parents and was married September 16, 1894 to Mattie Brown to which the union was blessed with eleven children. All his married life was spent in the Cutler vicinity.
Surviving are the widow; four sons and three daughters: Paul of Delphi; Marie of Avery; Fred of Cutler; and Mary, Edna, Morris and Vern, at home; five grandchildren; a brother Alfred Clem of Cutler; and three sisters: Mrs. Mary Draper, Cutler; and Mrs. Alice Elliott and Mrs. Sadie Moser of Flora, Indiana.
Funeral services were held at the family home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with interment in Ball Hill Cemetery.
Coroner John T. Kirkpatrick conducted the inquest.
