James W. Radabaugh, 76, of Newport died at 7:20 p.m. in his home.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Rupp Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday. Rev. Lawrence Detruf, pastor of The First Church of God, will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
James was born March 13, 1936 in Arthurdale, West Virginia, he was the son of William H. and Augusta (Miller) Radabaugh. He married Janice Cox July 9, 1983.
He worked for 34 years at Chevrolet Spring and Bumper; retiring in 2002.
James served in the United State Marine Corp. from June 1954 to June 1956.
He was a member of the Swan Boat Club.
James loved to tell jokes, dance, go camping in West Virginia, play horse shoes and cards.
He is survived by his wife Janice Radabaugh of Newport, three sons, James Radabaugh, Jr. of Grass Lake, Ron (Suzanne) Carpenter and Rob (Jodi) Carpenter both of Newport; three daughters, Linda Folster of Wayne, Wanda (Ronnie) Case of North Carolina and Brenda (Mark) Pienta of Centerline; a brother, Robert Radabaugh of Ohio; five sisters, Margaret Harris of Garden City, Beulah (Wade) Wolf, Katherine DeBastiani, Norma (Jack) Brown and Leona Hardy all of West Virginia; seventeen grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Harold, Dennis, Kenneth and Darrell Radabaugh; two sisters, Wanda Radabaugh and Doris Fortney.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
