Obituary: CORVALLIS GAZETTE TIMES, March 19, 2011

"GENE G. BROWN, 82, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 15, at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in Corvallis.

GENE was born to HAROLD GILMOUR and DOROTHY BARNHAM on Feb. 20, 1929 in Dorris, Calif.

In June 1950. GENE married ROBERT M. BROWN. They had two children, KATHY and SCOTT.

GENE was an administrative assistant for the Oregon State University Horticulture Department for more than 20 years before retiring in May of 1992. After retiring GENE enjoyed going on cruises with BOB, and knitting sweaters, blankest and winter hats as gifts for family members. She loved gardening and growing various flowers. GENE also loved reading books.

GENE was preceded in death by her husband, BOB in 2008; and her only son SCOTT in 2010...

The memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. March 1927 at the McHenry Funeral Home Chapel with a private family inurnment following."
