"James Barr
He was born June 21, 1825 in Renfrewshire, Scotland to Robert and Janet (Rettiker) Barr.
He was married in 1860 in the town of Lanark, Portage County, WI to Mary Donavan, who was born September 21, 1842 in New Brunswick, Canada to Patrick and Julia (Coughlin) Donavan.
James passed away July 9, 1916 and Mary passed away in 1919. Both are buried in the First Belmont Cemetery.
James moved from section 21, town of Lanark, in 1873 to section 19 in the town of Belmont.
James and Mary Barr were the parents of seven children. Three children, Robert, Anna and Jane all passed away at an early age."
