We visited the Oak Glen Cemetery in 2013 to visit the graves of Thomas and Abigail Culver Stoddard. We noticed that there were numerous “Avery” graves behind the Stoddard graves and one for Daniel Avery says that he emigrated from Groton, CT in 1793. That does not show on your picture but I thought it might be useful information for anyone searching that family. The Stoddards came from Groton, CT also so I think we could surmise that there was a group from that area moving together. How brave they were to leave the known for the unknown and wild country, I have wondered if there is anyway that the stone of Thomas Stoddard could be repaired…perhaps you would know. - Lois Dietrich Griffith
