Alice died at Roestown House, Dunshaughlin, Co. Meath. She was born 1834 in Meath to Matthew and Bridget Sherry of Moynalvey Parish. The McDermott family originally lived in Moynalvey mid to late 1850's. They then lived at 53 Great Britain Street, Dublin from about 1860 until the 1890's. She was living at 24 O'Connell Avenue, Dublin at the 1901 census. Her address 1t 1911 census was 8 Cumberland Place, North Circular Road, Dublin with her daughters Mary and Genevieve.

Erected By Alice McDermott In Loving Memory Of Her Dear Husband James McDermott 53 Gt Britain St Who Died 18th June 1887 Aged 50 Years Interred In Grave T 30. Also Of Their Second Beloved Son Mathew Who Died 2nd January 1890 Aged 29 Years, Also Of Their Eldest Beloved Son John Who Died 6th May 1893 Aged 36 Years. Also Of Their Eldest Daughter Bridget McDermott Who Died 3rd August 1875 Interred In Grave T 30. Sacred Heart Of Jesus Have Mercy On Them
