Daniel "SnooBill" Lewis, 79, of Magnolia, Arkansas passed away on Friday, August 3, 2012 at the Springhill Medical Center, Springhill, Louisiana.

He was born on February 20, 1933 in the Atlanta Community in Columbia County, Arkansas to the late Gilbert and Nettie (Godwin) Lewis. He was a route carrier for the Banner-News, of the Baptist faith, a great animal lover, and enjoyed his family. He worked for many years at Prescott Raceway and was always Velvet's greatest fan and supporter in drag racing.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Mae Lewis; a daughter, Diann Martin; son-in-law, Scott Martin; and one sister, Ester Butler.

Daniel is survived by his two sons, Jackie Lewis and wife Velvet, and Doug Lewis, all of Magnolia; a sister, Florence Vaughn of McNeil, Arkansas; a brother, Iry Lewis of McNeil; two grandchildren, Ginger Kruck and husband Billy of Benton, Arkansas; Chad Lewis of Magnolia; a great grandson, Scotty Kruck of Benton; and several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Lewis Funeral Home of Magnolia.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 5, 2012 with Bro. Elvis Griffin officiating. Burial will follow at Gordon Cemetery in Haynesville, Louisiana under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., of Magnolia.

Memorials may be made to the Summit Health Care, 506 North Long Ave., Taylor, Arkansas 71861.

Pallbearers will be Paul Vaughn, Greg Dougan, Kelly Sinor, Wayne Hollis, Kirk Wood and Randy Cook. Honorary pallbearers will be J.R. Lindsey, James Camp, Bubba Wilson, Steve Thomas, and David Connelly.

The family thanks Summit Health Care for their years of care provided to Daniel.
