Hollie J. Reed Died Of Pneumonia in France, October 26,.1918, The first gold star on Milton township's service flag will be in honor of Hollie J. Reed, who gave his life for his country after exactly four months service. June 26, the young man left his home at Superior No. 10 for Camp Sherman and October 26, he died of pneumonia in a hospital in France, according to a message received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Reed Tuesday. Mr. Reed was 25 years old and left for overseas in September with the 84th division. Although the engagement had not been announced, it was known to their friends that the gallant young soldier was looking forward eagerly to the end of the war when he would claim as his bride, Miss Grace Fitzpatrick
SOLDIERS BODY BROUGHT HOME - Hollie Reed Burial at Mt. Carmel Cemetery Monday -- Military honors marked the funeral of Hollie J. Reed, the first Wellston boy to be brought back from France, where he gave his life for his country. The body arrived here Thursday and the following day was taken to the home of the grief-stricken, yet proud parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Reed, near Mt. Carmel.
