JOHN R. BOECKMAN

John Boeckman, 71, of 915 Wilson St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday
morning at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc, after a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Jens Funeral Home,
Manitowoc, the Rev. Theodore P. Crusius officiating. Burial will be
at Evergreen Cemetery and graveside services will be conducted by
Drews-Bleser American Legion Post No. 88.
Mr. Boeckman was born Sept. 11, 1888, at Manitowoc, son of the late
Carl and Ida Erdman Boeckman. He was educated in Manitowoc schools
and was a cabinet maker by profession. He married Anita Groelle Jan.
12, 1918, at Manitowoc at the First Reformed Church.
Surviving are his wife; five sons, John Jr., Kenneth, Robert, Donald
and Richard of Manitowoc; seven daughters, Mrs. Ledger Karmen, Miss
Phyllis Boeckman, Mrs. Bert Truttschel and Mrs. Norman Fischer of
Manitowoc, Mrs. Lester Halverson of Manitowoc Rapids, Mrs. Walter
Bratz of Cato and Mrs. Robert Parsley of Norfolk, Va.; a brother,
Alfred of Manitowoc; two sisters, Miss Ella Boeckman and Miss Evelyn
Boeckman of Manitowoc; and 32 grandchildren. A daughter and a brother
preceded him in death. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at the
funeral home.
